New Year, Time to Re-Spec
Every game has a clear quest. You know exactly what you need to do. Save the princess. Kill 5 rats. Speak to Mr. Gerald.
These all come with nifty quest icons, locations, and rewards when you complete them. Must be nice!
But, what do we do if we don't live in a video game?

Finding Your Core Drive
Behind every goal is a core drive. The reason you want to complete it. Let's take an example.
Goal: Get shredded at the gym.
- Why? Because it will make me more attractive.
- Why? Because then I can find a partner.
- Why? Because then I can find love.
Your core drive is wanting to be loved.
3 Benefits of Finding Your Core Drive

Finding Your Quest: By identifying your core drive early, you determine whether the quest (getting shredded) helps you reach your true goal (being loved).
Optimization: Save time and energy by focusing on the best path to accomplishing the goal, which may not always be the one you set out to accomplish.
Motivation: It is easier to push onward when your goal is backed by the meaningful weight of your drive.
Next time we will help you write clear goals.
